this can't happen to us!

So it's kinda funny, I was having fun looking for stuff for my good friend Jessica's baby, due in May. Then the week after her shower I start having unexplainable nausea and can hardly eat, hubby and I have a good laugh about it, then one night he asks me: things are still on schedule right? Crickets. I go to the local university clinic the next Monday. Surprise!

So the shock is wearing off and we're starting to make plans. We'll probably move into his parent's empty rooms when our lease runs up this summer so we can save money (and have a room to decorate). I will put off my teaching plans for an indefinite period of time, maybe get a part time job but mostly be a stay-at-home mum. Mike still has another year of school left, after which he will be a certified mechanic.

SO... I am 9 weeks Wednesday (may be changed though because I have my first sonogram Thursday). This past week has been HECK. I have NEVER been so sick in my life. Last Thursday alone I puked up fifteen times, so my doctor called me in that day. I had lost four pounds since Tuesday (when they had done my bloodwork and such). They gave me a prescription for Zofran and life has been sooo much better! Now I'm hungry all the time and am constantly eating! lol

I've only had one really strong craving so far: thick, creamy chocolate milk. Mike bought a whole gallon of it for me yesterday :D Mike has been so great; I really couldn't have asked for more from him. He takes care of me so much.

We're trying not to set ourselves up for disappoint but... we're really hoping for a boy! Our good friends Jessica and Justin are having a boy in May, and seriously everyone else is having girls. Even our families are predicting a boy for the same reason (my s-i-l had a girl last Nov, and my sister Lilah is having a girl this summer). Sorry Lilah, I'm just girlied out. That and my s-i-l mentioned if it is a girl she can have all of Darcy's old clothes. I know hand-me-downs are inevitable, but I wouldn't want her entire wardrobe to be clothes that her cousin doesn't need anymore. Needless to say I can't wait to find out what it is!!

If it is a boy, then we'll have to go with the requisite car theme since Mike is (will be) a mechanic. If it's a girl, I found the cutest HK Baby collection today!!

I will try to update as much as possible, but right now life is pretty boring... :\
